Have seen this same scene at the Masai Mara. Elephants are amazing creatures. So family oriented, and protective of one another -- much like people in that way. Very nicely captured here.

Hi, Paulo, Just catching up with your photoblog. Stunning shots which I am sure gave you an unforgettable experience. This shot of mummy elephant and her baby is my favourite because you have captured a heart warming moment. And the 'wrinkles' on her skin are a reflection of the wisdom she has gained through the years which add character and beauty to her whole being.
